What is it?
It's a perfect occasion for Bermuda and the America's Cup to get to know each other. On the sporting side, the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series is the opening salvo to the full America's Cup. Points earned here in Bermuda count towards qualification to the end stages in 2017.

On the shore side, it's a fun festival for the whole family, including with a FREE Event Village along front street full of family activities, food and beverage, big screens to watch the racing, local and international entertainment, and featuring the AC Jam presented by Fidelity International on Saturday night (this is a ticketed event).

How do I watch it?
There are many options to follow the racing. The race course is planned to be on the Great Sound, just outside Two Rock Passage. If weather conditions permit, the second race of each day will finish inside Hamilton Harbour. Find the best viewing option for you and your family:

     * Get a ticket for a spectator boat from www.islandtourcentre.com. From $75 for an afternoon of race viewing, these boats line the edges of the race course and offer a front row view. More information is here

     * Come out with your own boat. From Monday September 21, you can register your boat with www.islandtourcentre.com to receive the latest updates and race course and safety information. Registration is free for boats under 50-feet LOA. Registration is required for boats over 50-feet LOA ($100).

    * Come down to the Event Village on Front Street. Join in with the Our Bermuda festival and watch the racing on the big screen. The plan is for the finish line of the second race each day to be just off Front Street in Hamilton Harbour.

     * Watch on television. Local coverage is live and on ZFB.

     * Listen on BBC (Bermuda Broadcasting) radio.

     * Download the AC App and watch the racing live on your mobile device.

Who is competing?
The Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series features six of the best sailing teams in the world competing in the opening stages of the 35th America's Cup, the competition for the oldest tropy in international sport.

The Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series is two seasons of racing in events around the world for points that count towards qualification for the later stages of the America's Cup which take place exclusively in Bermuda in May/June 2017.

The six teams are: Artemis Racing (SWE); Emirates Team New Zealand; Groupama Team France; Land Rover BAR (GBR); ORACLE TEAM USA; SoftBank Team Japan.

Two events have already been held, with Land Rover BAR winning on home waters in Portsmouth, England and Emirates Team New Zealand winning in Gothenburg, Sweden. ORACLE TEAM USA, the defending champion of the America's Cup needs a good performance on its 'home waters' of Bermuda in October to keep pace.

Overall results after two stages of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series can be found here.

Tell me more about the Event Village and the Our Bermuda festival...
Bermuda pride will be on full display in October at the Our Bermuda Festival during the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Bermuda.

The free event will take place from October 16 -18 with Front Street being transformed into a street party from Friday afternoon until Sunday evening.

The festival will be distinctly Bermudian featuring dozens of food vendors, exhibitors, sailing, live commentary, fireworks, Dock Out and Dock In shows, a concert, kid activities, entertainers and more, showcasing the best the Island has to offer.

Our Bermuda Festival is an event the whole family will enjoy. Daylight screens will be available to watch the races on land in the Fan Zone at Number One Parking Lot and the Food Court at Number Five Parking Lot. The Event Village is the best location on land to watch the finish of the final race on each day.

The Fan Zone is the best venue for on shore viewing, as there will be live commentary and televised racing on the screen at the main stage. The Dock Out Show in the Fan Zone will give attendees access to the sailors and boats before the races. Following the races, there will be a Post-Race Talk Show where the sailors will be interviewed.

The best way to meet the sailors is at the Dock Out Show at 12:30pm on Saturday and Sunday!

What about the AC Jam presented by Fidelity?
This is going to be a great concert on Saturday night. It's the only ticketed event of the weekend. Featuring Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Spice and Company, Uzimon, Nadanja and The Kings. More info here and tickets here.

Who's going to win?!?
Ben Ainslie's Land Rover BAR won the first event, while Emirates Team New Zealand rode the hot hand of young helmsman Peter Burling to win the second stage in Sweden. ORACLE TEAM USA, who brought the America's Cup to Bermuda, need a win. Skipper Jimmy Spithill has called on Bermudians to come out and support his team. But Groupama Team France have some of the best multihull sailors in the world, while Artemis Racing is filled with Olympic champions and SoftBank Team japan, the newest entry, has the experienced Dean Barker - who was one win away from taking the Cup in 2013 - in change. The competition is going to be intense. Choose a team, get behind them, and show your support!
